Excellent value and excellent food. Nothing too surprising as far as the menu goes, but the service and food were great. We will go back for sure!

This is a fine place. To me, everybody goes there BECAUSE everybody goes there. It's well-established, because its food is tasty and its staff is friendly. But, it serves Americanized Mexican fare...which is just fine...and it is very tasty...but if you want more authentic dishes you might be a little disappointed. Still, the meals here are delicious.
I like that I can have a margarita that has the perfect lime flavor, without that overwhelming margarita mix taste. I had an enchilada/ralleno combo plate that I thought was very good. The chips were light and the salsa mild, so no burnt taste buds!
My husband was not that happy with his tostada grande as it was very average,...

Crowded: Yes Service: Very Good, considering Food: The food and drinks were just OK Overall: There's not much else to say. The service was the only category that was more than OK. Everything else was marginal.
The Cadillac Margaritas Were Excellent, The Guacamole Good With THe addition Of Salsa Poured Over It. The Food Was A Bit Bland.
San Luis Obispo Mexican is Pepe's....Period. The preparation of everything on the menu is terrific. The atmosphere is great. The service is great. The hospitality is warm and sincere. Plus..Absolutely great Margaritas. Have enjoyed Pepe's for 35 years and never been disappointed. I especially recommend....THE ENTIRE MENU!

Rarely does a week go by without it being "A Pepe's night." We love the food and feel like family there (but of course when you go as often as we do, they almost know what we want to order!). The food is consistently good and we usually order ala carte, because by the time you go through the yummy...

Those are the best things to order at Pepes. Their food is pretty classic, standard Mexican fare, but have great guacamole. And if you want a great margarita, splurge and get the Cadillac margarita.
HUUUGE portions - we could have shared the fajita dish between three almost. Flavours were good and prices fair. The slowness of service has to come into the equation though. With more staff, the experience could have been better.
