We had good food, presented well. They allow guests to bring one bottle of local (San Luis or Santa Barbara county, I think) wine to have with their meal with no corkage fee. So, we had a bottle of one of our favorite wines with our dinner. More

We arrived on an early Saturday evening with a reservation. Greeted nicely by hotel desk employees. Restaurant hostess not available. Wait...She appears, is slightly welcoming. She had to check our table...disappears for several minutes. Returns, dithers at computer screen...no conversation or information for us...takes us to a nice table in an almost empty room...what was the time consuming problem? We... More

Loved the food at our anniversary dinner!!! The Winter Salad was amazing as well as our entrees of Sand Dab's and Duck. The food was well presented and of good quality. On the other hand breakfast the next day was quite a disappointment as our omelette arrived swimming in oil and blah tasting. More

Hidden off Hwy 101 on the road to Avila Beach. This restaurant in the Avila Hot Springs resort has a nice bar with a fireplace separate from the dinning room, but you can order food if you find a vacant table. They try to keep up with the best chefs in San Luis Obispo County. This resort has been here... More

If you're on vacation over Thanksgiving, it can be difficult to find a place open for dinner. This restaurant was open and could fit us in. We were so excited because we were running out of options and it was getting late. Very nice atmosphere. We were seated near the bar. Our waiter was polite but s-l-o-w. The price...$55 per... More

Nice staff, laid back vibe, but upscale. High quality food. Post hike to the ridge, or as a destination restaurant, quite good. More

My wife and I ate at the Gardens recently while staying in Avila Beach. I'd eaten there once before on a business meeting about a year ago and thought it was good but not outstanding. This time, however, the food was excellent, the flavors light and distinct. The vegetables were cooked to perfection -- not to crisp, but not soft... More
