Kabul is one of our favorite restaurants for "date night." Quiet ambiance, white tablecloths and attentive service. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside you're transported to another world decorated with authentic middle eastern touches. The location is off the beaten path but it's often full due to the tasty fare. The dishes are flavorful and huge... More

My husband and I visit San Carlos regularly, and one of the restaurants we always enjoy visiting is Kabul. I recently had their Lamb Shish Leek (a favourite of my husband), which is a lamb dish sautéed with onion, tomato and green pepper. It was full of flavour and quite delicious. The portions were generous, with the Shish Leek having... More

We went to Kabul Restaurant with another family - a total of 4 adults and 4 kids. We loved it! I didn't know anything about afghani food before eating here. The spices were unlike anything I've ever tasted. The kids even loved the spinach :) I highly recommend it. More

Kabul is tucked away in the corner of a small strip mall. From the outside it always looks closed to me, but go on in. The decor is nicely mid-eastern. The food is outstanding. My wife loves the pumpkin dish from the entree menu (and ask for the meat sauce as listed on the appetizer menu). More

My wife and I were here a couple of weeks ago. We love trying cuisine from different cultures. This was a real treat. I can't remember the name of the dish but it was Lamb and Spinach served over seasoned rice. It was delicious, and portions were generous. My step son lives in the neighborhood and we'll definitely be back.... More

We ate here last year and enjoyed the food so much we went back when we visited the area again - we were not disappointed. We ordered several lamb dishes (Kabab-E-Gousfandand, Chupan, and Mata Challaw) they were all excellent. The portions were generous and the meat was tender and juicy. The stewed pumpkin (Kadu) was delicious! The pudding (firny) made... More

Personally I would never have tried Afghan food, largely because I wouldn't have known to try it. Friends wanted to go to Kabul, and I tagged along. I was glad I did, I had KABAB-E-GAW (Tender cubes of beef, marinated in herbs and fine spices, charb oiled on skewer, served with pallaw.) and loved it. It was plenty of food... More

I've been to Kabul twice and both times it was amazing. To be honest, I've never had Afghan food before so I have nothing else to compare it to but I think it's awesome. I don't eat lamb, but my family does and they love all of the lamb options. I love everything else- especially the squash dish (don't remember... More

Afghan cuisine is sufficiently exotic to be interesting, and yet it's "accessible" to almost everyone. They're especially well known for their lamb dishes -- the lamb kebabs, in particular. The lamb is succulent, tender, lean, and has none of that "lamb-y" taste that some people object to. Two "sleepers" on the menu -- Aushak, which resembles large ravioli stuffed with... More

Although the wait staff aren't always the friendliest, they are efficient and the food is tasty. More
