Another really cool place is Mitlas Café in San Bernadino. An authentic Mexican restaurant still owned and operated by the family of the founder. The food is delicious and the staff is really friendly. Mitlas Café has preserved that “family-restaurant” flair which makes you feel welcome. More

Mitla Cafe, just off old Route 66 on Mt. Vernon, has been a San Bernardino institution for over 75 years. My father started eating there in 1937 and I can still remember Don Diego, the founder, proudly roaming the restaurant in the 1950s. The third (or is it fourth?) generation now runs Mitla , and the recipes haven't changed much... More
