Shame on the Moon has been around for almost 30 years, so they must be doing something right. It is not hip or trendy, but delivers an excellent meal in a traditional setting. The menu is straightforward and all of the food is well-prepared. I had veal meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The meatloaf was well-seasoned, although... More

Three of us had dinner here on Saturday, May 4. We arrived at opening - 5pm, and by 5:45 the restaurant was almost full. It's been around for 29 years, so kind of a throw-back to a more leisurely, somewhat sophisticated dining experience - yet still casual (I wore shorts, as did most of the men). Great food and service.... More

The liver and onions are to die for! Everything they serve is excellent. Having once been owned by Frank Sinatra, the place has provenance as well.

We invited two of our friends to dinner last night and the food and service was A+. We live nearby and have dined at Shame on the Moon many times. Last night the restaurant once again proved to me that they are the best! I have already received thank you notes from my friends raving about the service and the... More

Killer drinks, food just about average, service ? I wasn't aware of any. Better places to spend an evening, but I love the concept.

This small popular restaurant had a lively buzz upon arrival. With a good noise level and fully occupied we had high hopes for the food quality. While the potato pancake appetizer was well prepared, with good presentation and taste, the rest of the meal was lacking. The free salad included with entrees was not necessary and was not interesting -... More

I live in Sydney, Australia but every chance I have to visit my friends in Palm Springs we always eat there at least once.It is a fantastic dining experience and even as a regular traveller I do not say this about many restaurants. The food and service are outstanding and I also like the little name cards for the guests.I have... We eat here every year we visit and this year we ate 3 times in 3 weeks and brought friends along twice. Every meal is excellent and the hosts make you feel welcome and known. The one time that my husband ordered the speciality of liver and onions, the liver was not quite right - and it was taken back... More

Everybody in Palm Springs dines at Shame on the Moon at least once a month. So this is a mainstay in the Palm Springs area. Reservations are a must. They have everything. And all the people in our party thoroughly enjoyed what they ordered. The house specialty is liver and onions, believe it or not. You definitely should give this... More

Residents and long-time visitors have come to know the "Shame" as an essential part of the dinning scene in the Dessert. This very popular (book ahead) up scale restaurant prides itself on excellent service, detail, and scrumptious food. From our arrival we were treated like old friends (we hadn't been back for many years!). Our table was denoted with our... More
