Description: The Dal Rae is the Southern California restaurant where 1950s classics still reign. Lobster Thermidor, Pepper Steak, Chateaubriand, Prime Rib, Fresh Fish, Rack of Lamb, Steak Diane and Cherries Jubilee prepared tableside are among more than 100 items on a truly retro menu, complete with some of the city's best martinis. Opened in 1958, the Dal Rae has maintained its original atmosphere, too, right down to a piano bar with live entertainment and a dance floor. And, most important, it has preserved a tradition otherwise found only in private clubs -- knowing its customers by name and treating them like the most important people in the whole wide world. The Dal Rae is located close to the 5 freeway and half-way between LA County, Orange County and The Valley. It is a perfect location for business meetings or entertaining friends and family.

Menu selections, service, and atmosphere are excellent. Tables and booths are nicely spaced, and everything runs smoothly. Prices run from moderate to expensive, but there are many choices. Generous portions. More

If you are a fan of "Mad Men" you owe it to yourself to visit. Dark, cosy, leather booths. Full bar with excellent martinis, manhattans and old fashions. Roll in to the valet parking, order a steak and an old fashion (or 2), settle in and relax. Forget calories and carbs and enjoy an old school meal. More

Came in early NYE for dinner. The food and service was excellent, especially when you consider it was NYE. Only a couple of minor food issues (Clam Chowder and Creme Brulee). Our waitress was attentive and our meals were all prepared as ordered and we received them in a timely manner. Drink prices were reasonable. Two of us had salmon... More

Pepper Steak, Abalone, Prime Rib, Viking Steak, Crab Louie, The best restaurant in California. My father and mother began eating at their first Dal Rae on Western in Inglewood in 1951. When I was carried into the Dal Rae in 1958 I did not order off the menu. I no longer live in CA. When I visit I always eat... More

I hadn't been to Dal Rae in over 20 years. My mother selected it for her birthday party. Called ahead to make reservations for 17 people and Julie was a great help in arranging a private room, flowers and dessert presentation. We've all seen those photos of 1950's Hollywood stars sipping martinis or biting into an onion from the relish... More

Even though it was wildly busy on Mother's Day, the quality of the food and service did not suffer. The halilbut was the best ever and the filet mignon perfect. My grandmother's favorite - pepper steak - is legendary. We had a reservation and dined early, which probably helped. The atmosphere is not elegant or trendy, but very traditional, cozy,... More

My friend's boyfriend took us to this hidden gem in Pico Rivera. At first look I wasnt impressed, as soon as I walked in, I knew I was in for a ride. People were dressed up nicely and trendy in a very vintage (dont want to call it dated) atmosphere. All I can say is that I had one of... More

The Dal Rae is much as it was in the '50s and '60s, when it was a 3 martini expense account treat. How long has it been since you've had a salad, baked potato or flaming dessert fixed tableside? Food was great and plentiful - the bread and relish tray were meals in themselves. When we went, they had a... More

I have lunch at the Dal Rae about every six weeks, most recently on March 14, 2008. While you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time about 50 years as you walk into the dark interior, the food is well-prepared and the servers knowledgeable and helpful, and the wine list features an extensive array of California reds and whites....
