We returned to Pasadena to visit our son and returned to Roy's for dinner. We are so pleased to be welcomed back by the staff (especially Jeff--thank you!) and enjoy another wonderful meal. Our waiter was attentive, we love our wine lessons and the opportunity to try new things, and the food is consistently first rate. Thank you Roy's.....will return... More

We celebrated my wife's birthday here and had a wonderful experience. The online reservation system was easy to use and the email reminders were welcomed. When we arrived we only had to wait a few minutes for our table. The wait staff was excellent. My wife enjoyed the seafood trio and I loved the chicken which was very succulent. They... More

The lovely Roy's restaurant has a great happy hour in their bar. They feature fun, tropical drinks as well as beer and wine and delicious small plates at decent prices. The staff is friendly and helpful and the ambience is elegant upbeat. My son and I have created a tradition of spending the afternoon at the Huntington Library, then head... More

Roy's is relatively new (a few years) in Pasadena, a town of some longstanding restaurants. We always enjoyed Roy's when we visited but its success often caused problems in getting seating. My wife and I recently re-discovered Roy's and its great $6 happy hour while waiting for the movies (a art house theater is across the street). It was a... More

Our organization hosted a special dinner here this past week and Roy's did not disappoint. I had the seared Ahi, and it was amazing -- sushi grade Ahi that was seared and still cool in the middle. So good -- melt in the mouth kind of fish. The plating is especially lovely. The wines poured were excellent and the dessert... More

Every time we are in town we make it to Roy's. It is very consistant with a solid meal. Of note, the sommelier Jeff is wonderful!!!! He has recommended over time some absolutely great wines that we never had tried before. Thank you and we will see you the next time we come to Pasadena.

We went to dinner here to celebrate two birthdays. When we made the reservations they asked for the names of the birthday celebrants. Upon our arrival we were enthusiastically greeted and provided with two special menus for the birthday boy & girl with their names printed on the first page. What a great way to start off our night! We tend to visit on special occasions or happy hour because it's not an inexpensive meal, but the food is worth the price. I always order the fish dishes and never been disappointed. Their cocktails are also fantastic, none of the overly sweet tropical fare you get at lesser bars and restaurants.

I'm giving it a 4 because it has a great environment, despite the high prices and food that doesn't correlate with its costs. But then again, I have to remember that this place is fusion, so the tastes are more catered towards those who enjoy restaurants like PF Changs and Panda Inn (I just remembered, Roy's is chained with Fleming's...
