We ate here for Christmas dinner and had a 5:30 reservation. Glad we reserved early. The hostess was no nonsense and refused to let us switch tables, but she was kind of interesting in her own way. The place is nicely decorated and definitely suited for larger groups who want to dig into some Chinese fare. Very bustling with trays... More

Every now and then a lucky hunch pays off. While waiting for a friend to have same day surgery in Palo Alto I took a walk to kill the time and came across Tai Pan Restaurant. Great, friendly service with tasty Chinese food; unfortunately for them (but good for us punters) they're a block away from University Ave or they'd be even busier. Only downside is they don't have a full dim sum range for lunch More
