We loved this place the first time we went, but the second time not so much. The first time, the food was good and the server was attentive and helpful, but the second time we were stuck in the back dining area with lots of people and poor service.

The hotel where we stayed did not think this restaurant would be a good option for our family, but we decided to chance it and eat there anyway. This is mostly a tapas restaurant with reasonable portions. They do offer meals for children such as pasta with red sauce or olive oil and cheese. My girls loved the pasta and...

Had lunch here with friends while on vacation recently and my only regret was that I live too far away to dine here regularly. Wonderful food, excellent service -- attentive without being intrusive, and a nice wine list. It was a perfect dining experience.
We enjoyed our meal and drinks - the restaurant was pricey but as we were there during happy hour it was a bit cheaper. Some of the tapas were excellent - dates, shrimp and lamb; others less so - the potatoes served with aioli were undercooked.
The tapas are outstanding and the entrees perfect. Great ambiance, excellent service. A winner all around.
We had cocktails and appetizers here. We liked the atmosphere and were sorry we had plans to dine somewhere else. When we return to Ojai, we'll plan to eat here. The martinis were good. The margaritas were a bit weak. The calamari was superb.
During our 2-day trip to Ojai, we searched Yelp and Tripadvisor for restaurant recommendations. We find Yelp useful, but the reviewers are frequently pizza and hamburger oriented. Fortunately, we stumbled upon Azu, which was right up our alley: more upscale, adult in taste, high-quality food nicely presented in a tasteful refined atmosphere. Had a very enjoyable dinner. The small plates are generous and everything well done. Nice atmosphere and attentive wait staff. We received an incorrect entree but it was quickly corrected and handled very nicely with complementary dessert. 30 percent off wine on Monday!
just had dinner at azu with my wife and adult daughter. we shared a variety of small plates, as well as a larger salad and an entree. the dishes were all well prepared and flavorful. the mussels and the mushroom ravioli were standouts, and the chile relleno unique. highly recommended.
Great place for dinner - our hostess was very friendly, the rolls were wonderful & warm, we had the seafood paella, and the artichoke caprese appetizer - both were wonderful. You have to try Laura's Mojito - the BEST drink I've ever had.
