This place needs, as noted everywhere on the site, more servers. If you have patience and are willing to wait the food is good; often it's hard to figure just why the wait is so long when there are few customers. We stopped going regularly with guests because the service is so poor. That said, if you have plenty of... More

My wife and I went to Hill Street because our daughter (who lives in O'side) spoke so highly of it. Sadly I wasn't impressed. Food was OK, service was OK. Maybe I expected more because our daughter raved about it. This place won't be on my "must return" list the next time we visit O'side. More

Fairly good brunch menu. Laid back service, breakfast was pretty good but it always feels a little grubby to me...saying that,it cant be too bad as I still go back whenever I visit Oceanside More

The menu here is many pages long, with selections to delight the vegan in your group as well as the ones just wanting good food made from wonderfully fresh ingredients, at a reasonable price. The service was fine today, a weekday a little past the noon rush, and the sandwiches were big, original, flavorful and pleasing. I live about 40... More

After spending an afternoon at the beach with our kids, we needed to find some healthy, tasty, vegetarian dinner. Hill Street Cafe proved to be all this and more. We sat in our own room, full of colorful art, and were amazed at the huge menu. The avocado burrito is great, and our kids liked the grilled cheese on multi... More

We stopped BEFORE lunch hour, and still waited almost 30 min for a simple salad and sandwich. Food was fine. Service slow. Simple remedy: hire another wait person! People need jobs, and this restaurant could use more help! Otherwise, it was fine. More

Walking into Hill Street cafe I am usually told to grab a menu out of a box on the wall and find a seat. Anywhere from one to ten minutes later a server comes by to ask what I want to drink. Anywhere from one to ten minutes later I get that drink. You get the picture. I don't rate... More

Have been coming here for several years. On highway 101 in historic Oceanside. Restaurant is in an historic Victorian home now with a surf/beach vibe throughout the restaurant. We always come here for breakfast and the food is always oustanding. I wish service was better......Sundays can be very busy and they never seem to have enough help with wait staff?... More
