I have been coming here for years and the food is great. Most of the time going there had to wait up to two hours long for a table yet it was definitely worth it.
We were in Japantown just exploring the area and were in need of something to eat. By sheer luck we wandered into the Shabu Shabu House. We didn't even know what shabu shabu was but we noticed that there were lots of people waiting so we took the plunge, signed the waiting list and watched with interest as people prepared... More
Been going to this little Shabu Shabu joint since 1988 - that's over 25 years and muse at all the newbies whining about the long wait. Please...people STOP - this is an institution. It's been this way for DECADES. Real fans appreciate quality and don't mind the wait. So quit yer bellyachin!! The moment I stepped into this place back... More
In LA, when it's brisk out, esp. in the evening and am wanting something soup-like but a meal all in one, theres nothing as fulfilling as Shabu Shabu (SB-SB). But i also eat this when its over 90 degrees out because it will make u sweat. Why You Say???? After sweating up a storm, you will feel cool for hours... More
I f you're in the area..it's Worth stopping by as you won't get desappointed with the food..excellent!
The people are great and the prices very moderate. There is nothing creative or unique about the food. It is good quality but not interesting. Just a small cafe in the Japanese Village of LA.
I timed my arrival time from Las Vegas just between 11/11:30 just to be back again at the shabu shabu house. If you never had shabu try this one. Great price, taste and freshness. Sayonara.
I've had Shabu Shabu in Japan many times. What a treat this is. While visiting on L.A., we had dinner here. Unbelievable!! While we ate, I felt as though we were in a Tokyo restaurant. The food is amazing, as we'll as the staff working there! If you're near Little Tokyo....this is a must. Plus Asahi "Super Dry" is cold... More
I am a habitual seeker of Shabu Shabu. The best I have ever had is here... and in Tokyo. Period. Look at the negative reviews here and read what they say: "The wait is too long" - GUESS WHY. Long wait to get into a place speaks volumes. Every time I am back in L.A., I go here, and am... More
Shabu Shabu House in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo is worth the wait. We waiting about 45 long minutes. The long wait is because of the nature of the eating experience. Each patron sits in front a boiling pot of hot water. The hot water is perfect to place a waiting plate of cut vegetables and tofu. Then, the thinly sliced... More
