Main street feeling. Great brunches with hangover specials. Kind of close to the rough neighbourhood but friendly diner feel

I had the stuffed avocado salad with quinoa.....simply to die for!!! Great atmosphere, great service, great food. What more could you ask for?
Good value, but was not impressed with quality. Service was much better than other places I visited in LA. A little from central Downtown.
I had to try this place and I am glad I did. Perfectly cooked catfish on Cornbread with a Brussels sprout hash was fantastic. The service was friendly and the speed and confidence at which a server got a homeless man out of the place was astonishing. This leads to the negatives though, it is in a dicey part of...

In town for a few days and wanted diner food. This classic on Main Street filled the bill. Our group tried a tasty corned beef and classic cheeseburgers. Onion rings were perfect. Salad perfect. Best of all the desert tray. All good choices but Samores cake was mile high perfect. We will be back next time in LA!
I love this place. I head downtown to the Nickel Diner every 4-6 weeks for breakfast. The decor is old time diner gone hip. The music is classic rock. The wait staff is excellent and attentive. The area is run down, but don't let that stop you. Being a morning person, I am usually there when they open at 8...

We loved nickel Diner. The service was great, as was the food. My other half ordered a bacon donut (the reason we visited) and they had sold out so we ordered a red velvet instead. To our surprise out came the last bacon donut in the house. My other half was thrilled. Thankyou so much. Would definately go again if...

A fun spot with the flavor of an old LA dinner. Located in the changing boundry between the business district and skid row, the site might not appeal to some. However it is well worth the trip. The food is excellent and the decor is fun throwback to dinners of yesteryear. For lunch we had the stuffed avocado salad and...

We took our 12 yr. old and seven of his friends to breakfast/lunch here before heading to the Staples Center. The wait was about 20 minutes at 10:00 on a Sunday, not bad, especially for our large party of eleven (we did agree to two tables). The doughnuts are not to be missed, there is not a thing that we...

My wife and I were recently taken to the Nickel Dinner in Downtown Los Angeles. We loved the restaurant. A great menu with a fresh take on diner favorites. The home made salsa and apple butter were as good as it gets. The food was prepared well, and a lot of thought went into the menu.
The service was excellent...
