V'Canto comes well recommended amonst the locals. We certainly enjoyed our experience there. But...found the pasta entrees to be a dissapointingly poor quality! First, the service was very good. all the personell were friendly, attentive, and efficient. Grade: B+ The wine selections were also very good. There was a good variety of local and CA wines, available by the bottle... More

We tried for years to love this place, but its owner had the culinary equivalent of tone-deafness when it came to Italian food ... and thought he knew it all. At last, he has hired a good chef who is straightening out the menu and getting the flavors right. Nice marinara, lovely setting, good service, fair prices.

I arrived for dinner...intending to "dine". It was early...5:30-ish. I walked right up, no one else waiting. However, some people don't know what to do or think when someone arrives "alone". I stood around a little while, was really hoping for some good Italian food. I was offered a bar window seat, although a table for 3 was available, I... More

The food was good and the service was awesome. Don't miss the live jazz music. We enjoyed the music and dinner.

The food was excellent, from the warm bread and olive oil, the minestrone soup. the excellent pasta dish, all the way through to the out of this world apple and blackberry cobbler, hot from the oven, with vanilla ice cream melting on top. The service was impeccable. They have live music every Friday and Saturday night. The night we ate... More

Jim Muto is the genius behind Piaci's Pizza, which he sold. Now he has V'Canto. Great place to watch the baseball playoffs and sit with locals. the food is filling, though since I have been to Italy, I wouldn't call it Italian. Nice atmosphere, live music is provided.

One of the best italian restaurants we've ever eated! Selfmade pasta and lasagne with delicious sauces, great salad with homemade sauce, tasteful ciabata bread with mouth watering first-class olive oil and great service! We can highly recommend this nice restaurant if you like original and real italian food!

We got hungry while walking around Fort Bragg, and stepped into V'Canto for lunch. It was great all around. The atmosphere was charming, the owner was interesting and the food was excellent. It was exactly what we were looking for! One plus was a menu that worked well for lots of different appetites - a burger for our daughter, crab... More
