Although our table wasn't quite ready when we arrived, we sat for a few minutes sipping sparkly wine. The maitre d then showed us two seating possibilities and allowed us our preference. The fron room has a more formal feel and the back dining area feels more casual with more space between tables. We did the four courses and we... More

Our food was imaginative and yummy. The service was slow and the room we were seated I was loud and too warm. Wine service and pairing was terrific.

First, the dinner is $65 for 2 savory & one sweet dish. $79 for 4 dishes. Once you get past the price, enjoy yourself. Server was great and explained all of the choices we had questions about. Lots of variety in 1st 2 choices. We had halibut, lamb & "cap of ribeye" for our main entree. Dessert included carrot cake... More

This is a famous restaurant with an excellent chef. What we objected to was the 'hustle' of our waiter. An older gentleman, he seemed very upscale and polished. He offered us a bit of house champagne to start - and indicated that this was gratis as well as the small chef sample at the start. The menu is the usual... More

Wow, I'm really surprised to hear this. And, I wish you'd questioned your server at the time. The amuse that we deliver is complimentary. But I'm confused about the champagne. We do offer a glass before dinner, but do not indicate that it would also be complimentary, so I'm sorry for that confusion! And I think that the charge for... More

My husband and two daughters and I went here to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. I would agree that the dress code needs to be more in keeping with the atmosphere--jeans are definitely not appropriate, although there were a couple of people dressed as such. The food was delicious, but I would have thought that since it is Napa the... More

I'm so glad you chose to celebrate with us! And sorry you weren't entirely pleased with the meal. But, to clarify, we aren't in Napa. We're in Sonoma, Russian River Valley to be exact. And we do offer some Napa wines and tons of Sonoma wines. But, we do also offer a broad range of wines from other regions and... More

I have eaten in the farmhouse many times and always enjoy the experience. The last time I ate there there were customers who came to eat that would have been rejected from going to a beach. Wife beater tee-shirts and shorts is too much for this type of a restaurant. If I am spending over a $100 person I think... More

I have to say that I agree, totally. And generally our guests, while often casual (we really don't mind nice jeans with appropriate tops), dress with respect for the experience we offer and the other guests in the restaurant. That does so rarely happen- under dressed guests- and I'm sorry you were negatively impacted. Occasionally reservations are booked by travel... More

All four in our party ordered the 3 course Tasting and Wine Pairing. We all enjoyed our food. The wine was nothing spectacular nor was the dessert. It was a nice dinner, nice experience but not one I would do again.

After a wonderful day of wine tasting....couldn't wait to enjoy an indulgent meal at this absolutely beautiful and seemingly understated restaurant. Sounded perfect. Sadly.. It was by far the WORST meal we have ever had... big plates and small portions.. their "signature" rabbit dish was not edible... could not cut it with a knife. The scallops were better.. Nothing was... More

Wow, that's a horrible review. And I'm so sorry to see it! We really do have a great reputation, and we really do work so hard to deserve it. And it's such a shame when something like this happens. This is a situation where I wish this guest had indicted their displeasure to their server or our manager. They would... More

We did the 4 course Tasting menu and split each dish. It was over the New Years holiday and they were fully booked. Food was outstanding, loved every dish. Fresh, innovative and well prepared. Wine pairing was not my favorite, in fact, I was slightly disappointed. Don't think I shared the Sommerlier taste. But overall, the atmosphere was great and... More

The restaurant offers a 3 course tasting menu on Monday nights for $49. The offer is two savory dishes and one sweet. On Jan 9, 2013, I called to ask if they would substitute another savory for the sweet. They said yes and, on that basis, I made the reservation for Jan 14, 2013. On Sunday, Jan 13, they called... I totally agree! While we don't generally substitute courses on the prix fixe Monday Night menu, if we said we do it we should have done it. Sounds like an awful case of two people, two answers. We work so hard to make sure that doesn't happen. But I'm afraid that the person confirming reservations is on a morning shift,... More
