One of the best happy hour in L.A and some of the most delicious dishes I've had in town for a reasonable price... It's a good mix of Comfort food with a lot of european influence. Even their staff is friendly and the atmosphere is laid back. DO NOT MISS IT if you're in the neighborhood

It takes a lot to influence me on restaurants, but this one I am tempted to avoid since I fear I wouldn't be able to get a reservation. This is a modern version of an English Pub in the shell of a Denny's type building. It is close to the Ocean and easy to find. The Chef, who I never... More

Waterloo has been on our favorites list since not long after it opened, but it has changed so radically that last week was our last time there. They have decided their customers prefer hearty food over haute cuisine, so dishes like fois gras pate with eel and zuccini blossom fritters filled with shrimp mousse have been replaced with farm workers’... I went to the place after getting a review from tripadvisor.com. It was close to the motel where I was staying--and i thought this would be a good place for dinner. The service was perfectly ok--but it seemed more like a bar than a restaurant--no complaint. I picked one of the specials--and figured it would be special. It was ok--again,... More

We visited my son in Culver City second times this year and after going to several, restaurants and bars, Waterloo & City is still my favorite, food is always excellent, we always ordered several appetizers to share and main courses were all excellent as well as service was the best, would highly recommend, for casual but very tasty dinning

Over-hyped and very meat-centric, this British Gastropub is in love with salt (and too much of it at that!): unlike the Monarchy everything tastes the same, be it boars head terrine, head cheese or pheasant sausage. Even the chips! Thank God the bussers weren't stingy with refilling the water. Loved the idea of converting an old diner into something hip... More

Excellent meal and quite an impressive menu- who knew dumpy old Washington Blvd would have such a hot spot!? Great drinks menu, smooth and dark coffee after dinner. A new (for us) spot to add to the "where shall we go tonight?" rotation. Definitely recommended! Only downside- the fireplace room was totally ruined by a large tv showing sports- could've... More

My son took me to Waterloo & City, before my return to UK. The food was excellent, but my Pimms should have been served properly - with cucumber, apple, and mint. If I have Pimms - I expect it to be served correctly. Some bars & restaurants let themselves down on detail. The service was patchy, my son was kept... More

Waterloo and City is in a "nada" area of Culver City, which means that parking is easier than in more trendy neighborhoods. The place is funky, and loud. We went for Happy Hour, and ordered well drinks (OK) and small plates. The small plates were outstanding--and, at $6 to $8, worth every cent--especially the gnocci with artichokes, spinach, and (a...
