When I go to Costa Mesa I usually stay at the Marriott residence inn which is very very close to the IKKO. I've passed by it many times overlooking the small sign of the restaurant. One day I decided to stop and give it a try. I sat at the sushi bar and I had one of the best sushi... More

Some of the best Sushi I've had anywhere. Restaurant is small and tables are at a premium. I sat at the counter and service was great. Menu is large and it's a bit difficult to narrow down what you want to order. My suggestion is stick to the sushi and don't worry about rolls why up the quality fish anyway?... More

When I have chances to stay overnight in Costa Mesa/Irvine area (Maybe 2-3 times a year.), I try to eat there as often I can. I took many guests from Japan including my mom and my best friend to Ikko and everyone really enjoyed their food. Hard to find location. But, once you are in, it's an intimate space with... More

The food: amazing. Sushi is pre-seasoned for amazing flavor. Rare imported sashimi options. Seafood salad was original, fresh, and crisp. Hot plates are a hit or miss. The restaurant seats few customers at a time, and I would highly recommend reservations, and be there immediately upon opening. The staff was very friendly. I was greeted by the waitresses as well... I was told that I had an hour and a half to enjoy my table when seated and then it took 40 minutes to be waited on. When we placed an order for food and it also took a long time. I never received my second drink order. The wrong food was delivered to my table. After enjoying some, it... More

We drove past a couple of times until we finally found this tiny restaurant. It's in the middle of a shopping area. Inside, only about 5 tables and the bar. Be reserved two seats at the bar, directly in front of one of the chefs. A friend recommended ordering Omakase, a prix fixe selection of courses from the chef wih... More

A Japanese friend recommended Ikko to me, and I mentally thank him every time I eat there. It's the best sushi I've ever had and is consistently amazing. The dishes are unlike those found at most sushi restaurants (no California rolls, e.g.), and there's no soy sauce at the table. The sushi chef seasons each item as he likes, and... More

LOOOVE the ambience: cozy, stylish but simplistic, quaint, I could go on and on. But the uni w/ truffles (upon request) steals the show More
