We were first told that the potatoes they serve with breakfast were not done yet. So we had to substitute. It was forever waiting, at least an hour in an empty restaurant waiting on our breakfast. Another couple came in and seemed to get better attention than us. The cook came out to talk with them in a tank top,... More

My hubby and I decided to give this place a go based on some recommendations. We hadn't celebrated Valentine's Day with a yummy dinner yet, and chose Madlon's for the celebration. First, make sure that you call for a reservation! People were being turned away despite the restaurant having space (I attributed this to there only being one server and... More

We had dinner at Madlon's on our visit to Big Bear. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was impeccable. Hope to dine there again! More

ust finished the best breakfast we've had on the mountain in years. Try eggs benedict ANY way, but the wife loved the crab cake simply fabulous. Child of the corn had chocolate chip pancakes and waffles that were yumsters!!!!! Ambiance and service are superior and the food was unbelievable KUDOS to this establishment!!! Reservations recommended! More

This has to be the closest to a continental menu I've seen in a long time! The service is top-notch (the wait staff is VERY WELL TRAINED AND KNOWLEDGABLE)... and the food will NOT disappoint! More

I would not dine at Madlon's if the meal was free. Day care is the real business and the server, Scott kept telling my wife how he owned the restaurant. He was rude and the food was not quality. The Chef was pre-occupied and the old man who look so tired, the real owner, was at his wits end. He... More

This unassuming restaurant -- looks like a house from the movie Shrek -- is a delight. We went to Big Bear for Oktoberfest and this fit right in with our European-style getaway. The dining room resembled an old world home with timbered ceilings, white table cloths, European artwork and French music. We were astounded by the menu. There was the... More

execellent to bad it is so far from home. will try to eat there every time in big bear. It was a surprise discovery for us that day to a restaurant that loves to prepare food for your senses. Great 5-course dinner for 2 for $58 dollars. More
