You are in a huge 1920's cavernous wood paneled room, with almost silent/whispering servers, and no background music. This sort of restaurant is extinct in America.

This is an ok place for lunch if you're visiting the Berkeley campus. It's right across from the law school. Food isn't all that inspired, but it's fine. Prices are on the high side. I assume that's because there aren't a lot of options in this category in the area.

During our visit to Adagia we were amazed by their apparent lack of concern that the tables were so sticky that the silverware was actually adhered to the table, and menus put on the table were lifted with a tape-like "wrrrrip" sound.
