Food was excellent, a little on the pricey side, but well worth it. Did have an early evening offer but we didn't make that.

I wanted something differnt to celebrate my 70th birthday so along with a friend and our two dogs we had a four day break at the Compasses Inn. We booked into their cottage for B & B with evening meal and had a lovely time. The cottage was very comfortable and the food at the pub was absolutely excellent. I...

When staying in a nearby b&b we found the nearest pub to be a hidden gem! The Compasses Inn was warm and inviting everything we were looking for on a cold evening. Good ale and lovely wine, not to mention an extensive menu to choose from including a specials board. I had mussels to start and they were the best...

A small, but absolutely genuine country pub with great atmosphere and food. If you can find it you will not be disappointed.
Warm and relaxed. Good ale and wine and great food. Will return. Nice and warm near the fire. Service was spot on and with very little fuss, which we like.

Good food and cosy atmosphere, big fire, excellent menu and good beer, off the beaten track - worth the detour
We live about 20 minutes from this superb country pub. We try to go a few times a year for special occasions and so does my son and wife. It's always been good! Lovely flagged bar,low lighting, unobtrusive but excellent service and really good food. Recommended but tricky to find.
