I like the decor-plush and cozy, thanks to the past owner's good taste. Good location, across from the cruise ship docks.

When in Alaska, eat fish. And when in Ketchikan eat at Annabelle's. A good mix of locals and tourists eat here. Great steamed clams .
Had Smoked Salmon Chowder with bread, around $7.00. The rest of the group had crab cakes and salmon burgers. Unfortunately the coffee and tea was luke warm as was my chowder. Four of us for lunch cost $70.00. They dont serve breakfast.
A local suggested we try Annabelle's. Our waitress was very nice and was attentive throughout the meal. I got the salmon cream cheese and caper sandwich it was okay. I was expecting a little more don't get me wrong it was good but bland and a little expensive for what it was. I also got the clam chowder it was...

A more appropriate name would be, "Famous Keg and So-So Chowder House". The taste of thyme overwhelms all other flavors in Annabell's chowder.
Best chowder ever. I tried both the smoked salmon and the reindeer. Fabulous. Oh and the carrot cake is almost as good as mine
Large restaurant with 2 sides. I personally like the decor although it could have been a little fresher. The staff was friendly however from the dining room the kitchen was clearly visible as was one of the staff scarfing down lunch behind the drink station. Food and pricing was average.... they like bacon and it is incorporated into almost every...

Well, after reading reviews of Ketchikan restaurants, I wasn't looking forward to eating out. To my surprise, I enjoyed the few places I got to eat on my very short visit. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice. Great appetizers, friendly staff, great lunch for a rainy day! I look forward to my return.
About Sept. 3 2012....What has happened to Annabelle's? I ALWAYS stop by when I am in KTN (My GGFather was PJ Gilmore and Annabelle's is in the PJ Gilmore Hotel) and I usually LOVE their food and service. This time the wait staff seemed LOOPY and they said they had NO COLD WHITE WINE but the steamer clams were COLD....

I love the inside of this place it is part of the historic Gilmore Hotel and it fits. The interior is old and preserved by Alaska standards, lots of dark wood a decorative tin ceiling, old picture and paintings to boot. I thought the staff was amazing typical down to earth Alaskan hospitality we are pround of up here.
