The restaurant offers excellent Peruvian food. I really recommend to visit this restaurant when you are in San Jose. They make the best pisco sour I've ever had. Everything was seasoned right, all ingredients were fresh and food was just prepared. There ceviches are great and the soup makes you want to lick the bowl. The place was packed at... More

A group of us enjoyed a good meal...good service as well. One of the few restaurants we enjoyed where the service was good for a large group.

We had dinner here our first night in Costa Rica at the beginning of a 10 day trip. The restaurant was recommended by our nearby hotel and while it seemed odd to go to a Peruvian restaurant, we went with it and were glad we did! The service was attentive and efficient, our fish was outstanding and the price was... More

Machu Picchu is a hidden gem in San Jose - it is out of the "restaurant area" of central San Jose, down toward Sabana Park on 32nd calle, and just north a block from Central Avenue (at the corner with KFC and McDs). The atmosphere is great for all occasions from business conversations to family. The food quality is very... More

I'm not a seafood fan, but I enjoyed the shrimp and rice at Machu Picchu on my first night in San Jose'. The portion was much more than I could eat, and many others in our group seemed quite pleased with their choices. The service was good, and the price was hard to beat - about $14 with a glass... If you are craving delicious and tasty seafood this is always a good bet. Machu Pichu has a long tradition of cooking wonderful Peruvian recipes and their seafood is VERY well known in Costa Rica. Their seafood "a la parrilla" is one of the most amazing dishes. They also have their delicious "piqueos" which feature a combination of delicate seafood... More

Typical restaurant for people from San Jose. The fish is always done to perfection and the ambience as well as the staff are always proffessional and courteous.

Machu Picchu is out of the "restaurant area" of central San Jose, down toward Sabana Park on 32nd calle, north a block from Central Avenue (turn north at the KFC!) The food is very good and the service is better. Other reviewers rave about the sea bass ceviche, and they're right! We also had the avocado with shrimp and the... More

Flavourful without being too spicy, fresh fish prepared many different ways. Great atmosphere and paintings on the walls.

We have been coming to Costa Rica for almost 20 years and no trip is complete without a trip to Manchu Picchu- You must have a Pisco Sour-wow . we usually pick lots of appetizers and share but also have had most of the entrees as well. Service is friendly and attentive. Order the ceviche it is fantastic. Really anything... More
