Be sure to stop by Yang's dumplings after you had your fill at jia jia tang bao. These 2 shops are located just opposite each other. You can get there easily by Metro and stop at People's Square. They are located just behind the Park Hotel. You will not regret the overdose of pork at these 2 places.
When we saw the line outside this place, we knew it must be good. Had breakfast of noodles and dumplings, which you take a small bite of and suck out the juice before eating the dumpling. Beats bacon and eggs!
I was first introduced to these yummy fried dumplings while on a shopping tour....what a yummy taste sensation. I was so impressed that i took my hubby down many a back street in search of more....and was just as impressed.....and so cheap....will definitely be back for more when we are back in Shanghai in Oct!
Yang's make the best pot sticker type pork dumplings. We were lucky as it was just around from our hotel. Cheap, hot, cooked in front of you. You can take away or eat there (there is an upstairs area as well). Their soups are also delicious. Highly recommended. Seem to be open day and night.
They are just a little better than the marketplace ones but it is honorable to understand what you‘re good at and provide conistent quality to every customer. Short menu but you know that they know about what they cook.

the only "good" foods are the dumplings! we tried some noodles and soup and they were impossible to eat!
Whenever I see locals in a queu for food, it must be good! Go to the YuYuan Road branch and you will enjoy the steaming hot, freshly prepared, Shanghainese dumplings. Be careful not to burn your mouth, but wow they are delicious!
After weeks of noticing the long lines, I finally stopped in for a helping of dumplings. Priced at 1 USD for 4 dumplings the price is unbeatable. Taste is great. I have not tried any other menu items. The place is always packed full and finding a table is difficult at times, but if you are looking for a satisfying...
