WE been to Xintiandi and Din Tai Fung twice at our trip. The food is very tasy and we ordered different dishes each time. WE loved any dish. From the most simple one until the very spicy dishes. Be aware to bring time if you not reserve a place upfront. We waited over 45 min cause but i was worth... More

This is a Taiwanese chain that specializes in dumpling known as xiaolongbao in China. There are many of these restaurants around Shanghai as well as in Taipei and even the west coast of the US. My wife and I live within walking distance of the one in Xintiandi and go there fairly often. I have eaten in most of their... More

The service is quick and staff is helpful. Also english speaking staff is a plus( compared to other restaurant in china). Although the menu is rich with alternatives, almost all is with pork meat!! For non-pork food the menu is poor. I could only enjoy vegie food( noodles with peanut, and dumplings with mushroom) which was nice. The price is... More

I feel like I heard every language BUT Chinese here. I went in the evening, because I had heard the nightlife here was quite good and that it was very safe. Lots and lots of high-end shops and small boutiques with high-end prices. Beautiful things for sale everywhere- and lots of restaurant choices- (Thai, German, wine bars, etc...) I did... More

After a 26 hour trip from Boston we wanted a restaurant close to hotel (Ritz Carlton, Portman). This restaurant was 50 paces from front door. Five of us had soup dumplings, a couple of other dim sum dishes, etc. Good service, high quality food, very reasonable prices. For those who have never had soup dumplings, there is an open (glass... As xiao long bao fans, the first I have about Din Tai Fung is of course that dumpling. First time having it was in Jakarta. The unique experience eating it is fun. Put the dumpling on the spoon, make a tiny whole so the hot steam from the soup is out meanwhile the whole is also for me to pour... More

The restaurant is located on the 1st floor of a shopping mall. The area is very modern and has a western atmosphere rather than chinese. The restaurant seems to be successful judging by the number of guests. You may have to wait like us, in this case they give you a ticket and you wait on chair in the alley... More

We went two times to this restaurant during our stay in Shanghai, and learned to appreciate the lovely dumpligs. It is not fancy, but the food is tasty, and the service is efficient and friendly A place we would like to come back again! More

Was having lunch there 2 days ago and had a good time. Even if the service was just ok and the atmosphere a bit cold, the food was great. The dumplings are amazing.. Try the one made with chicken and foie gras or the classic one simply with pork meat. Another highlight on their menu will be the chicken consomme,... More

A bit more expensive than the smaller local places I like to go to, this place has consistently great food! Work your way through the dumplings, go for a walk through Xintiandi and come back for seconds... ;) More
