The food was good but the condition of the restaurant was barely acceptable. It started raining and the floor was flooded. the centre of the restaurant floor was planks of not firmly fixed on the ground....service was good

Truly a hidden gem in the dark town of Sandakan. Got there at 4 pm just about time when the sun goes down. Had a bottle of Corona with a lime wedge, the perfect drinks for the perfect vacation. Slightly overpriced but we didn't mind as the cafe was really cozy, the service was excellent. Dining and drinking is outdoors,...

Sweet little place, in a place very unexpected. Nice little vibe. Comfy lounges and good ambience. Meals were good and filled the gap nicely. If your after a chilled out venue then this is the place for you. If your after 5 star fine dining, the give it a miss. We would definitely go back, it was our favourite.
Lovely view and setting. It offered relaxing feeling here and the best roof top restaurant in Sandakan !
Arriving in Sandakan in the dark after a thunderstorm engulfed flight from KL I wasn't thrilled by what I initially saw. We checked into the SAK hotel and headed upstairs to the hotel bar. Yes it was still bucketing it down with rain, but what greeted us was a very welcome surprise! A cosy, well stocked, well tendered bar. Perfect...

This bar would be impossible to find unless you seek it out. It is at the top of the Nak hotel but it is not advertised at street level. We were reccommended to go there and we were not disappointed ( and returned for a second visit). The food is lovely and the cocktails are amazing.( especially the mango daqari)....

Wow! Did not expect to find such a quaint little place in Sandakan!!!
Great place to spend the evening away from the dusty chaos at street level. Great roof-top bar/restaurant with nice views over-looking the city and water. The prices are by no means the cheapest in Sandakan, however the quality of the food is very good and makes it...

We found this by accident - and had an amazing evening. The service was brilliant, the cocktails good and the ambience wonderful. We relaxed on the sofas and spent over an hour enjoying the cool breeze and views. Cocktails were slightly more expensive than elsewhere - but still good value for the location.
Growing weary of Sandakan and given other travel factors we were facing at the time, Balin was exactly what we needed. The first of 3 times we went, we got to watch the Chinese New Years fireworks from the rooftop. The prices are slightly more than elsewhere but given the service and the atmosphere was well worth it.
Great during...

You wouldn't expect it to be such a nice place when you see the hotel from the outside. The rooftop garden is lovely and the food they serve is very nice. Maybe not the cheapest option in Sandakan, but a nice treat with Italian food.
