We liked the fish steamed in claypot and pineapple shake. Friendly atmosphere, we met some expats who were fun to talk to, gave us a map and some helpful tips. They also helped us arrange a motorbike rental with one of the waiters there More

We had to sit at the back and off to one side we could have been anywhere. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. More

I found this food to be just so-so, I wasn't that impressed, street food is better. More

N10°1'59.56" E105°47'16.70" We went for lunch in September of 2010 to this travel guide favorite and therefore full of Lonely Planet travelers. Mekong is a Chinese restaurant with Vietnamese dishes in an English menu. Service is fast but not personal. Food is very tasteful, fresh and very cheap. Nowhere in Vietnam did we have a great lunch for less than... More

Food hear was fine, not spectacular, not terrible. Atmosphere was a downer. Sticky tables, noisy, smoky, grumpy or non-engaging staff. We walked down the street past So Hom and it looked lively and busy. Much better atmosphere. Don't know about the food though. The place was full and seating is along the river in an open setting. Wish we'd tried... More

Went here based on the Lonely Planet recommendation and ate here two nights running. It's almost opposite the Ho Chi Minh statue and a great place for people watching. First night I had the pork claypot - tasted nice but the meat was a bit tough. Second night I had the beef curry - this was excellent. The menu was... More

Stopped in for a basic Vietnamese lunch and were not disappointed. Excellent pho, spring rolls, and lemongrass chicken. Nothing out of the ordinary, just well-made food, good prices, and a central location. More

The Chateaubriand, recommended by others at $4 was inedible, and the goat curry Vietnamese tasted as if it came out of a packet. The worst place in 4 days in Can Tho. More

Mekong is opposite the newly opened park containing a statue of Ho Chi Minh. Every night lots of local people come down to walk, talk and eat snacks under the statue so the restaurant is in the perfect place for people watching. Food is excellent and I can especially recommend the chateaubriand which at around 4USD is amazing value. Beer... More

Mekong is situated near the statue of Ho Chi Minh. Its more than reasonable and has a friendly atmosphere. The steak was as good as you will find at home! Plenty of cuisines to choose from and has a more than reasonable price tag. Its close to the Mekong and is available from early morning to the late evening. Definitely... More
