I went there at noon - and it was full. Obviously very popular place. I also heard that it is due to the fact that quality has remained unchanged for 30-40 years. The food was pretty ok, but not exceptional. Prices ok.

We regularly stay at the Continental Hotel to which this restaurant is attached. The food at La Canoa is very well prepared and priced in line with hotel based restaurants in Guayaquil. They serve an excellent breakfast buffet and are open 24 hours which is very convenient indeed. For a quick meal in a comfortable modern setting give this one...

We went to La Canoa with high expectations and finished with even higher ones. The food and service were very nice indeed. Waiter was very smart and recommended fresh plates like a grilled seafish plate, the Bolón Soup and a ceviche.
Site was crowded, so you would like to go early (19h30 - 20h00)

Some of the best restraint food we have had in all of Ecuador. Somewhat unusual and "local" dishes that were wonderful. We returned several times during our stay in Guayaquil.

La Canoa continues to be what it has been for many years. The quintessential Ecuadorian restaurant of Guayaquil. For both the international traveler and the local resident it offers a wide range of typical Ecuadorian dishes. The quality is good and the service friendly and efficient. Having said so you can feel the age of the place as it would...
