This place offered the energy we needed to kick off our club hopping nights in Ipanema... the food was top notch, the waiters were beyond friendly, the drinks were top shelf, and teh international crowd was the icing on the cake. Despite having an excellent location in front of Ipanema beach, it is not a good place, it´s expensive if you consider the low quality of services and the so so food. It is not too bad, but the location and visibility of the establishment deceive the tourist that is strolling by Ipanema, so I consider it a tourist trap. More

I'd like to report that I was yesterday there and I was so surprised with the low quality and the high price of the beef (Bife de chorizo: 41,90 Reais) that I hardly could believe... The meat was not only hard (although I have ordered it red!) but also very fat. Barril 1800 is not to recommend to anyone! More
