This is the second time we've been here and we liked it even more this time. This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been in. You feel like you are in someone's luxurious Mexican hacienda. It's very romantic. Go to their website - it really is as pretty as it looks. The food is interior Mexican, not... More

Fonda San Miguel is very pretty and well decorated. Their signature drink--the silver coin, is awesome! I love watermelon and this drink was to die for! They had a pretty large menu with lots of choices. We got the queso, which was poblano peppers and onions in white cheese wrapped in tortillas, awesome! A party of 5 split two and... More

The Sunday brunch is the BEST, you can taste EVERYTHING, and I think I did. Beautiful original art on the walls make this a hidden treasure. Made me feel like I was walking the streets in San Miguel de Allende. More

Austin is probably the Tex-Mex capital of the world. There is no shortage of great Tex-Mex joints. This is not one of them. The dishes are more traditional internal mexican food. The food is good, the service is upscale. The drinks are also very good. Want a different type of Mexican, this place is worth a try. More

We had ceviche (tradition) - amazing. Good mojitos, and then a watermelon mixed drink which was also dangerously smooth. The main entree portions are huge (I mean huge) - two people could actually split an entree, if appetizers are also ordered. It is plenty. We also had the crepe dessert (with almond ice cream, and caramel) - out of this... More

Could have given poor. Food, wine, beverages and cleanliness seem to have taken a dive. Makes me worry about the kitchen. Service is OK. The signature chile relleno, which I loved, has been dry and flavorless the last couple of times. Many of the locals who have been long time fans express pretty much the same. One person commented that it... More

Yes, the cost is 39.00 a person. The not so good: Service did not equal the price charged. Once our server delivered our $ 5.00 Mimosas, he never again asked if we wanted another, or bother to offer coffee?! Like prior reviewers noted it seemed our server did just the minimum required, told us the food layout and gave us... More

Why is everyone so crazy about this place? Last visit, the pescado veracruzano was less interesting than a quicky dinner version I do at home with frozen tilapia, canned tomatoes and salad bar olives from the grocery. Bland, uninteresting. The chile relleno made with the chile ancho is always interesting, but that's about the only thing on their menu I'd... More
