We love French food so whenever we travel we always see if there's a French restaurant in the vicinity. Most of the time we're disappointed - either there isn't one or if there is, the food is mediocre. Not this time! Off of 6th street, away from the noise and crowds is this small bistro with excellent cusine and a... More

This small bistro in downtown Austin, just off the noise of 6th, is a tiny piece of France. Everything was perfect, starting with the bread, and continuing throughout the meal. The service was attentive, without being too hands-on. All the food was excellent, and the prices reasonable.

Excellent menu. Great attention to detail. A favorite for years. Go early for lunch, or go early for dinner as the restaurant fills quickly. This is my first choice when planning a meal out. Beautiful presentations. Extremely fresh food. Does not disappoint.

Hard to believe we were not in France but in Texas! This little bistro was reminiscent of every little corner French restaurant in Paris. The service was attentive and respectful, the décor very suggestive of Europe, excellent compact wine list, delicious prix fixe choices, the regular menu was small, tidy and fulfilled all desires. Excellent home made country pate -... More

This is a small, longstanding café in downtown Austin, kind of out of place. From the interior, to the wine list, to the service, including of course the meal, everything was SO FRENCH! Prices were reasonable and the food was quite authentic - had an egg on my Lyonnaise salade and the entrees (beef and scallops) were fresh, perfectly prepared... More

My husband took me to Chez Nous for a belated birthday dinner and, wow, was it ever amazing. We arrived a bit early and it's a good thing we did. We walked in the door around 6:45 on a Saturday evening and got the last seats in the house. The couple who arrived after us waited approximately 30-40 minutes for... More

came heree based on other trpadvisor reviews and was not disappointed. We had the 3 course prix fixe. A great price for a great meal from the starter of pate, to salmon with crab through to profiteroles for desert. Great restaurant and so close to the action on 6th street. Park and make an evening of it! Service was very... More

Dinner at Chez Nous last evening was a delightful French style bistro experience that offered great food in a relaxing, casual setting. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was great. I had duck confit and it was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. My wife had the striped sea bass and we both loved the Provençal style of... More

This restaurant is amazing! Their menu selection is small but amazing at the same time. I always get the escargot, and the steak frite! I love escargot and this is the only place I can find them for a reasonable "French" price. The steak frite is delicious especially with the Roquefort sauce! They have a really good wine selection. A big Thanks to Stefan and the crew. After 6 years in France in the 60"s they transported me back to those long summer afternoons and evenings at a sidewalk bistro in Saint Germain en Laye. A real gem of a find whilst in Austin on business. Keep up the great work!!
