Came here just for the funky monkey with the wife. Their register was not working, but they still served us and a couple other of their customers at no cost. There was no cutting corners on the donut either. Generous portion, lots of cream, neatly sprinkled brown sugar and delicious bananas. What's not to love about this place?? 5 stars.

DELICIOUS! Warm and light donut covered with cream and bananas...one word- AMAZING! Cool setting with benches and the workers are super nice too! A true Austin Gem! The cash register was out of order and the dude just gave us our funky monkey for free- YAYE:) Gotta love Gourdough's!

the donuts themselves were so delicious: crunchy on the exterior, cakey in the interior - I had the Funky Monkey - grilled bananas, cream cheese frosting and brown sugar. It was heavenly!!

Gourdough's serves simply the best doughnut experience we have ever had in the USA. Note that they have moved from their old location to 1503 South 1st Street, Austin.

After reading reviews of Gourdough's, we just had to try it on a recent visit to Austin. It was a fun, delicious and unique experience eating decadent donuts that we got from a shiny Airstream food trailer while sitting at a picnic table eating by the glow of white Christmas lights strung around the tables. We tried a "Razzle Dazzle",...

The Naughty and Nice donut was similar to a funnel cake. The Dirty Berry was like a really good chocolate-covered strawberry. The PB&J donut was good but way too...

I didn't really know what to expect from Gourdough's. It was my very first food trailer experience, so I was nervous. With the first bite I was more than happy!
Gourdough's offers a huge variety of choices. I had the Flying Pig, a doughnut with maple glaze topped with bacon. I love to dip my bacon in real maple syrup...

We visited with a group on a Friday night. The wait was long. Although there were many patrons on site, the real hold up was a large TO GO order that was being filled. When the orders came out, the "doughnuts," were hot and fresh. Strangely, they are more like big beignets, topped with unique flavors. There is something for...

We went last summer when it was too hot to sit outside, so I was a bit crabby. The most surprising thing to me was that all toppings aside, the donuts themselves were different: heavy, dense, and biscuit-y, not light and fluffy and yeasty like traditional doughnuts.
It's a fun taste adventure best experienced with a small group so you...
