Ok, I must start off with - I'm not a fan of sushi. However, a friend is and he convinced me we should go since Uchiko is rated one of the best restaurants in Austin. So, we got two items ($16 for one and $20 for the other). The place was packed, but the service was pretty good (hence the... More

Went here for a date with a friend and sat near the back of the dining room. The food was good, but nothing to rave about and the service could've used some work but it was satisfactory. We enjoyed eating here but I am not dying to go back. More

The food here is amazing. We got several different things and shared them. Spice it up by trying what the waite staff recommends. We did and he was right! More

Incredible. Need I say more? Be sure you have a fat wallet before you come in. This is a dining experience you will not forget though. I look at it as more of a culinary experience as opposed to going to eat dinner at some restaurant. Excellent service, food and atmosphere, with a price tag to match! More

As I was getting ready to type this review, I noticed that another very recent review uses "wow" in the review title. At first I thought another in our party , must have written a review, but they did not. The coincidence -- and review-- is this: at our table of 5 last night, the word "wow" was so often... More

Creative, interesting, and delicious food. (And drink. Grilled thyme in a cocktail? Yummy.) Attentive, thoughtful service. Very casual atmosphere, which is unusual, as everything else about this place is fine dining. Including the prices, but here you pay for fabulous food and service, not pretention. Only downside is the location---because I don't live in Austin. :( More

I went to Uchiko for a business dinner. The food was fantastic and the service superb. The menu is a tapas style menu, each selection we had was amazing. The chef knows how to compile different foods together, he creates items that at first glance I would not have thought they went together, but if eaten at the same time... More

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Uchiko, not just very the great food, but one of the best waiters I've ever had. Our particular server was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and was very helpful in selecting dishes for our free-form tasting menu. The food was fantastic, but I will warn you, you must be in the mood... More

The only bad thing about this place is the wait. This is a place to savor taste, textures, presentation and a combination of flavors you won't believe. The best way to order is to select many small plates and just let them bring them in waves for all to share, so that you enjoy each one fully. Each one of... More

We made a reservation here about two weeks before Paul Qui won 'Top Chef.' The place was mobbed, with a throng of people waiting outside for a table, but we were seated right away. Service was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. We loved that no matter how many small plates we ordered at a time, they brought them out to us... More
