Sitting outside, overlooking a creek bed the food was tasty and the chef was very creative putting a new twist on standards. We started with the crab guacamole. It was very good with the perfect amount of "Kick". I then had the Chicken Chili Rellenos for my main course. It was delicious. A friend had recommended this restaurant and she... More

Visited because of the TripAdvisor reviews, but the menu was fairly limited and a bit "blah." The portions were small, the flavor of the food was so-so. My entire table was under-whelmed (there were three of us from different parts of the country) . I don't quite understand the incredible reviews about this place. This is "upscale" Tex-Mex cuisine where... More

We ordered 6 appetizers and 3 entrees for 3 people. They were all wonderful. The crab guacamole is unbelievable, better than expected. A very pleasant place with a beautiful interior. The outside area is like sitting in a treehouse. My new favorite Austin restaurant!!!!! More

Maybe I'm being unfair to base my review on a single visit, but this was so mediocre I just can't see bothering to park downtown to eat here. Unimaginative food, indifferent service, watery margaritas. Loud, crowded 20-something scene the night we went. More

Although the evening started a bit rocky....had to wait 30 minutes when we had a reservation, there was plenty of room to wait and the bar was open. We had our grandson (5) with us and he had an outside waiting area where he could romp around as kids are wont to do. The house margarita was not nearly as... More

I'm not sure how much of it is true, but our waitress told us the table tops were made from the dance floor used in the movie Saturday Night Fever and that one of the walls was made from the roof of a Vietnamese church. It true, that's pretty cool. The food was excellent, I had a combination of Taco,... More

Every dish was traditional, yet unique. We had the brunch which was delicious, and a good variety. The chilaquiles were this unique twist on nachos....a great sauce, flavor, with eggs on top. I wasn't sure about it but decided to take the leap on a recommendation by our server. I am glad I did! They had an odd twist on... More

The service at Garrido's was exceptional! We had the prix brunch and it was delicious...the Brisket taco is a must have. Our drinks, appetizer, food and desert were all delicious. We had a table outside, in the sun, with a Brazilian band playing and it was like we were on vacation! So much fun, I would highly recommend this place,... More

Food average, service below average, atmosphere below average, price okay. That just about sums this place up. Not bad, not great. Might be good for summertime, on the river. Food was warn, service a little slow, bar dead on a Saturday night. This place probably closed at 10pm. I've only eaten at about a million mexican-texmex places, choose another one. More
