Went here at recommendation of hotel desk clerk who said it was locally owned & homemade tortillas. Food was ho hum- average quality on the negative side. Service was good & fast which was a plus but thd food just wasn't very good. Ordered the queso appetizer- it tasted like canned nacho cheese. Four of us ate- everyone had something... More

The food is average and the service was pretty good. I had the sampler plate which consisted of a tamale, taco and enchilada. The tamale was dry and seemed as though it was microwaved from a frozen state and covered with a sauce out of a can. The enchilada tortilla was also slightly dry however tasted good along with the... We've eaten off the menu and enjoyed the lunch buffet. Both have been very good, but we prefer to go during lunch for the buffet. More

Chris and Liz Herrera and their family have run Casa Herrera for more than 25 years. The food is excellent -- nothing unusual just great classic Tex-Mex. Sunday buffet is a bargain. More

Good food for the Abilene area and a very nice family ran establishment. The fajitas are good as well as most of the enchilada plates. More

I've eaten there 3 times on business travel, including the crazy week before Christmas this year, and the service and food were excellent each time. Good food and drinks at reasonable prices. More

We've been to Casa Herrera a handful of times, and each time has been a pleasant experience. The owners seem to be very involved in the goings-ons in the restaurant. Our glasses were never empty and each time we needed something we were quickly accommodated. The food is good. It has a home-cooking feel to it and you get a... More

I wasn't looking for Mexican, but due to the plethora of chain restaurants,I found this one which is family owned. Simple and Fresh - non greasy ingredients. They will cook to your taste. The smell of food in the parking lot was a good one - not one of rancid oil that you often find. A good bet. More
