Seafood Tavern has some of the best food, both seafood and steaks, that I have ever had. The service is a bit slow, not terrible though. Everyone is very friendly and eager to please. We prefer this restaurant for lunch rather than dinner, but no matter what kind of food you like, you'll enjoy what you get here. More

A nice place, a little hard to find, but worth the effort. Cozy decor, friendly staff, and some great specials. I love that your tea in included in the price! I had the gumbo, and my colleague had lobster bisque. The gumbo was tasty, with plenty of seafood chunks. I had grilled redfish, and my colleague had it blackened. We... More

Very good food. Great price at lunch and tea is included. I highly recommend the blackened tilapia with the grilled vegetables. More

Lunch Specials all day starting at $6.99 tea included. Always tasty and large portions. Think about it; most "specials" pop you about $2.50. More

On a brief visit back to Abilene, where I spent four years at Hardin-Simmons University, fellow HSU alums treated us to a Sunday noon meal here. I had a more than adequate serving of popcorn shrimp and my wife had tilapia. The entree plus sides were tasty and well prepared. With our old friends, we had our own little nook,... More

I thought their dishes lacked value and their food was sub-par for seafood. Myself, my wife, and a few friends checked out Seafood Tavern not long ago. The prices were a bit high, so we expected the quality and quantity of food to match. We were disappointed. The food was bland and the quantity left something to be desired. My... More

My wife and I went for dinner while traveling after it was recommended by our hotel bartender. While the decor is very out of date we amazed at the food. My wife got the blackened Redfish which she said was amazing. I had the ribeye and lobster..while the lobster was a little small the steak was on par with a... More

My boyfriend and I went for the lunch special and while the service was pretty good we were hoping to have some traditional fish and chips (well as traditional as you can get in Texas) but were sorely disappointed. My fish was good, but considering that they served Guiness (an Irish beer, of course) we figured that they would have... More

We were traveling through town looking for a place to have lunch. We happened onto Abilene Seafood Tavern and were pleasantly surprised. Building looks very much like an old Steak and Ale building, with little change in the decor. But the service was incredible, food good and reasonably priced. Would go again if ever in Abilene. More
