Love there food, and how they change it with the season. Loving going here very few weeks to see whats new on the menu. Also they do the best meat balls.
Went here with a girlfriend last weekend for dinner. She got the bowl of mussels (which was overflowing and delicious per her), I had the lasagna. The meat sauce was earthy and absolutely tasted homemade. Came perfectly hot and cheesy. Had house wine and their baby Jesus cake, as I cannot resist trying new sweets! It was a date cake... More
I live around the corner from Vesta and used to come in all the time for brunch, dinner or a quick glass of wine because the staff was so lovely. They changed the entire staff and the new folks aren't nearly as enjoyable, so I limit this exclusively to take-out, because thankfully the cooks have remained the same and the... More
This was recommended to us by a co-worker so we came here for dinner. I called about 3 hours in advance to make a reservation. They had no problems fulfilling the reservation. When we got to the restaurant around 7pm, there wasn't that many people. I initially thought, what a slow place, why was it recommended? Long story short, by... More
The food here is absolutely fantastic! I think this is one of Astoria's best kept secrets. The key is that the menu is not too expansive which in my opinion allows Vesta to focus on what it does best . Thus, you really can't go wrong with whatever you choose, whether ordering seafood or their great pizza dishes. They also... More
Vesta is a neighborhood restaurant that is a nice find. Menu is not large but dishes are very good and nicely presented. The house lasagna is a bit spicy with its 6-hour Ragu on lovely noodles served in a pottery baking dish in a very generous portion and seved with a nice crusty top. The pork tenderloin with apple stuffing... More
A pizza with potatoes?? and onion sauce and arugala? Try it...fantastic. Great menu, nice wines, ans good service at modest prices. Super find in Astoria! Cant wait to go back!
And the pizza! With potatoes, arugula, onion spread...I order it knowing I can't eat it all and will be able to have it for lunch and dinner the next day. The brussel sprouts are cheesy, roasted, cooked to perfection without being mushy. I've been to this restaurant and never been disappointed. Parking isn't easy, but completely worth the trip.
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. But then they sent all of their nice staff to their 2nd location, and hired a very rude waitress/bartender. Every time I've been there since this change, I've been disappointed and offended by this woman. It's not worth a visit unless you want abuse. Go to Bear around... More
We were glad we made a reservation because this place fills up quickly! The mussels appetizer was well prepared in what I call a thinned out chowder with lots of fresh basil - to die for :) And when our entree came, margarita pizza made on whole wheat dough, we were not disappointed, lots of sauce and melted cheese. Then... More
