I would rate this among my favorite meals in the last year or so. I am very glad we found this place and intend to return at least once this trip (this is extremely rare for me, as I like to try as many and varied places as possible in a new city). We were warned it would be busy,... More

This place is fantastic. Nice, big, airy restaurant mainly frequented by locals. The food was excellent; we had fried rice (for two), deep fried chicken in ume plum sauce, brussel sprouts with garlic and prawns, and double roasted pork with chili. Everything was perfectly cooked with delicious flavours. We drank the lime juice; big slices of lime in sweetened ice... More

The place is more like a local coffee shop than a restaurant. No frills but with plenty of atmosphere. It is located in an old part of town amongst quaint little shops. In the daytime, there is a market along the street so parking can be a problem. We arrived early in the evening to grab a table as we... More

We came twice while being in Georgetown. It is very busy around 7-8 pm, but the staff is very nice and makes sure you are seated. Everything seemed very fresh and well-prepared! I can definitely recommend the squid with salt and pepper and the spinach with eggs. Enjoy!

Get here early if you don't want to queue! Very popular with the locals and quite well known now to tourists. The Chinese food is amazing and so tasty. Authentic Penang restaurant. Try Tek Sen for the food and the people watching!

Had only a few hours in Penang, and this place was packed during lunch time. The food was good. It depends on your taste buds, but, I think, the best roast pork comes from "SKY CAFE" in the backpackers area. Having said that I must admit, their claypot chicken rice with salted fish was excellent.

If you are in Penang please visit. The double roast pork is heaven, and all the other dishes worthwhile. Get there early, and Coe relaxed, sit under a fan, act lie local, enjoy a tiger beer.

Went to Tek Sen for Lunch on a recent trip to Penang, overall, it was a reasonable place for lunch and prices were not as high as expected (total bill of 37 MYR for two). Between the two of us who went, we ordered one small seasonal vegetables, one small double-roasted pork, and one small Claypot chicken with salted fish.... More

Tek Sen is a great place for people who appreciate a locals experience with authetic local food, friendly service and excellent value. It may not be the best restaurant in Penang but it is certainly up there with them. Despite being criticised by some for slow service, or having to wait for a table people who know good food will...
