Beer. On Malaysia. And I can sit outside by the road. Food service all fantastic. It is very close to the backpackers, KBs and the bus station.

A must visit place at KB! Great service, good looking bosses w smiley faces, perfect ambience. Must try!
If you want a wide range of local food then I would avoid this place. If however you want beers than this place is fine. It was empty and dispiriting when we visited.
pubs where fellow travellers can meet and mingle are few, and this is one of them. never mind its name, its a pub! head down there, right in downtown city centre, for a cold pint. food is ok... try their pizzas, wonderful!
If you've been to Kota Bharu, you'd know what it's like here and how it's a little bit hard to find good places to eat or go for some drinks (booze I mean). Well, I discovered this neat little place. My friend told me it was an Irish Pub but really it was like a little bistro I think. Anyway,...

We were there for happy hour drinks. Beers served here in fact the place has more of the atmosphere of s bar rather than a restaurant. Small tiger $8 in happy hour which ends at 8 pm. Menu varied but not extensive. Reasonably priced Malay, Chinese and western dishes. Friendly efficient Service.
Kota Bharu is not my favorite place in the world. One of the other reviewers called Golden City and oasis correctly. In a relatively unattractive city of not much to do, it's a bit of heaven. Cold beer, attractive ambience, and good food (western and asian) brightened an otherwise humdrum stay.
Stayed in Kota Bharu a few days and dropped in for a few tiger beers to beat the heat a couple of times. Nice place. Happy hour 4-8pm for beer. 2 x 600ml tigers for 30rm. Decent enough food although portions a little small. Was always busy in the evenings. An alright people watching spot. Enjoy.
We came across this bar, restaurant whilst looking for the night market. Kota bharu is fairly depressing for western visitors but at least we had some cheap Tiger beer during happy hour, a nice fried rice and saw some soccer at the Golden City. It is run by a very happy Chinese chap.
We enjoyed the drinks and food. The owner is very warm.
