Have stopped here many times, alone, with friends and with family. Great selection of ice creams as well as small meals if you like.
On our way to Buffalo for a family outing on the 4th, on Rte 17, we always stop at the Big Dipper BBQ at exit 66. We again were not disappointed. We had the chicken (marinated in a vinegar-based sauce) and the ribs. Eating outside under their overhang is a great way to enjoy BBQ..and having a sink there to...

Large servings of quality ice cream. We live close by and go there a lot. Right next door is Big Dipper BB-que. We have been to a lot of ice cream stands and this has the biggest servings and and best flavor soft serve. Also have Perry's hard serve. Have some foods at the ice cream stand which are really...

The flooding hit this area hard and we lost several iconic businesses, but the Big Dipper in Apalachin has powered through and persevered! And lucky for us, because this is the best icecream place in the area. Great, creamy custard, yummy icecream flavors, a great variety of sundaes, all at reasonable prices.

We went there all the time last summer. You definately get your moneys worth. I think they flooded this past fall so i'm not sure if they'll be open this year. We hope so!
I know that they also sell food, but I can't say that I have ever bought any. The ice cream I stop for on a regular basis. They have both hard (Perry's) and soft serve ice cream along with Dole soft serve yogurt.
I like to go to the Big Dipper BBQ, right next to the icecream shop. Take out or you can eat at one of the picinic tables. Food is good- the chicken is in high demand, so if it's getting later in the afternoon, you might want to call ahead and reserve your dinner. The pulled pork sandwich is huge-...

I have loved going to this local ice cream stand since I moved to the area a year ago. It's easy to see why this place is a local favorite - I have friends who drive out 20 minutes from Binghamton just to get ice cream here!
I love that there are a variety of ice cream products available for...

We stopped by there the other night. I paid $2.95 for a double scoop of raspberry chunk ice cream. It was delicious. This is on a service road, about 1/2 a mile west of the Apalachin exit on 17W. If you are driving along the southern tier of NY, this is worth a stop.
