We stayed in Galle for a month and tried a number of places. Hard to beat Punto's for the taste of real home-made curry rice. Egg curry with string hppers for breakfast and the prawn curry for lunch highly recommended. Everything is handled with a light touch and not blitzed with spices as is often the case. Naquib runs the... More

We ate here on a couple of occasions and the local curry was well prepared with a variety of dishes at a very reasonable price. The actual restaurant is a bit small and pokey but thanks to the TA reports we did not pass by and we were glad we stayed. The price of $5 equivalent is very reasonable for... More

I didn't have a main meal here so maybe that's why I am not "goo goo gaa gaa" about this place. Unless you are sitting near the door it's a bit pokey but the smoothie was good as was the coffee but the "pokeiness" didn't thrill me...

Myself and my boyfriend both had rice and curry here, one of us had fish and the other prawns. The curry arrived with five different vegetable dishes and Poppadoms and rice. It was delicious and very authentic. Excellent value for money at 600 rupees each. We sat out facing the street which was lovely, and they turned the fan on... More

My friend and I had a lovely fresh fruit breakfast here as we looked out at the passing town people.

We were searching for local sri lankan food instead of all the western oriented restaurants. This place suits the needs of travellers who want to taste local food. The service was nice & friendly. The price was okay, especially compared to the other restaurants in the fort Escape the western oriented restaurants, this is a must- taste place.

We went to punto after reading out it on trip advisor. Quiet little place, but don't be fooled. The currys and such for dinner were very good, but it was the eastern breakfast the next day that really won us over. We ate our breakfast at our bed and breakfast and then headed down for a second breakfast at punto,... More

It's all in the name. This isn't called 'upmarket restaurant' it's called Padlar's Cafe'. Rustic and delightful with very tasty food. Two of us ate here and were very pleased with our meals, although they don't serve alcohol which was a bit of a disappointment. The curries we had were very tasty, light on the spices with a full accoutrement... More

This small place doesn't jump out as a great place to eat. But how wrong that assumption is. The best rice and curry in Galle at a great price.
