Murugan Idli shop is the best south indian restaurant which is famous for its Idli and 3 varieties of chutnies. The chutnies are very different and very tasty ones. Food was average .. Nothing fascinating. The waiter served idlis with his ungloved hand, which I did not like. And what's the point of an idli shop with no coffee ??

They will not give you even a spoon to eat. You need to strictly use hands to eat whatever you order with sambar and chutney.

Its a small shop difficult to locate if you want to do it yourself. But if you ask anybody....everybody knows it. The usual south Indian snacks served hot and fresh on banana leaf. No spoons or anything...so you are down to the indian traditional way of eating with your hand. Chutney makes it even more interesting.

Very soft idlis and 5 different chutneys for breakfast was awesome, oil dosa was good too but no tea or coffee on the menu. If you would like to taste different chutneys give it a go you won't be disappointed.

Its a 3 storey Restaurant Opposite Pothy's Shop. They serve on typical banana leafs. The Idlis and Dosas just melt in the mouth. Such soft and tasty idlis I have never tasted in my life. The 6 chutneys are delicious. The best part of all is the service...extremely prompt, chutneys keep coming even before you can ask...and extremely courteous waiters!!... More

Many of my friends are from Madurai and they were constantly promoting the taste of Murugan Idli Shop. Every time we eat idli they used to tell how better the idli would be in Murugan Idli Shop. After so much hype, I decided to try this restaurant. As soon as we reached Madurai, we straightly went to this reataurant. The... More
