This place is like eating on top of a cliff, no it IS on the edge a steep cliff...no good if you get vertigo. I was inspired to write a short story about it. Unique for sure.

Travelling as a couple and booked into the best little hotel on the South Cliff- KR Guesthouse. he reccomended the Lotus Cafe and we ended up going every night! Really friendly staff and great food. The views at sunset are awesome. Plenty of fresh fish and fruit.

You sit right on the cliff's edge (bit scarey). Interesting view of Varkala walking some of the back roads to get there in the evening, out of the tourist zone. Spectacular sunset eating spot. Good food and nice spot.

We ate her twice once for lunch and once for dinner. The menu has a large selection of different types of food from Indian to fish etc. We would highly recommend the food as it was yummy and had good size portions. There is a large range of drinks on the menu all for a resonable price.

This was the only restaurant in operation on the south beach. Rough Guide recommended it and said the home made ice cream was good.
