Good to average food which seems overpriced for the A2 market. When crowded it is impossible to have a conversation due to poor acoustics.
Pacific Rim is one of the top places to dine in A2. Even though the menu is fairly static, there are several dishes that are top notch. I especially recommend the Sablefish (black cod) in a miso marinade. The fish is so buttery in texture and the sauce is the perfect counterpoint to the fish. The rack of lamb (off... More
Atmosphere inside is very nice, and the appetizers we had were very good. Presentation of the entrees is first-rate, but the meals are hit-or-miss. Wife had the chicken, and it was great. I had the yellowtail with soba, but the meal was ruined by the chef's liberal application of roasted sesame oil - its aroma and strong flavor overpowered the... More
My daughter and I ate here on a recent Sunday evening. The restaurant was physically very beautiful. While the front desk welcome was not especially warm, our waitress was lovely , and we enjoyed very good service. We thought the food was excellent. I had the spring rolls, which had a wonderful light crust and were chock full of shrimp.... More
Small restaurant which makes it difficult to have a semi-private conversation. We are not picky, but were not impressed with our food. Our appetizer was good, but our entrees were not as good. My pork was very fatty and tough. It was difficult to cut into. I didn't eat much of it, which was a shame since it was so... More
We trudged two blocks through biting sleet to this very pleasant restaurant, and found it half empty - undoubtedly the result of the weather. The place is known for "Asian fusion" food and the decor matched it - a pretty Scandinavian blonde-wood-modern with some hints of Asian fret work. The bar looks inviting with its wall mounted water feature. The... More
Some of the best multi-ethnic Asian cuisine in the Ann Arbor area. A fabulous restaurant but very expensive and many dishes are overpriced. The presentations of the food are exquisite although the dishes themselves don't all match in taste to their appearances. Very good East Asian food, but it's not even close to being the best restaurant in Ann Arbor,... More
Why have we never heard of this hidden gem in Ann Arbor? Not a complaint about one thing, not a thing to change. We tried almost every appetizer on the menu - calamari was to die for. The panko encrusted pork was the best chop I've ever had. Every dish was better than the next. Great atmosphere. Fantastic service. Loved... More
Pacific Rim offered a very interesting menu, and everything we tried off it was absolutely wonderful. We has the chicken and scallops entrees, which were out of this world. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, great for a night out. We will return on our next trip to Ann Arbor!
Based on glowing recommendations from friends, we ate here last night. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious, a perfect blend of flavors, and the presentation was amazing. I was sorry I hadn't brought my camera. The crab cake and coconut curry soup appetizers were delicious. The Sable and Tuna entrees were excellent. Another friend told us the scallops... More
