The Lao menu at Sonphao gives detailed explanations in English and Japanese about both of their menus. You can sample traditional Lao food or if you are feeling burnt out on Lao food you can sample the Japanese set. At night they have traditional Lao music and dance for entertainment. It's a very worthwhile evening. More
