It started of fine, the location is great, but from there it was pretty much a downhill slope. The personell was just awful in every way possible, it was way to expensive compared to the quality. Kureni is an enormous restaurant located right near the river. Despite its size, it was pretty full even early in the evening (5pm). I ordered the vareniki (easily the best perogies I’ve ever had) and pickles and borscht. You can also order half portions, as the portions sizes are very large and meant for sharing. We spend a wonderful evening outdoors at Kureni. The weather was medium, with about 20 degrees and patches of rain. Se we ended up being the only people eating outside in their river-view pavillon. What a great location, you are in the city but you could be anywhere in the country side, very relaxing, great food. Spend a lazy afternoon eating shahlik outside in the small buildings or on the terrace in the main building. A lovely place highly recommended to all travelers.

Very attractive place, especially if you reserve the table on the terrace on the higher floor, with the view on the river. The food is good and represents the national cuisine, but is not so exceptional, as we expected. The place is rather expensive.

Not much more to say than to agree with the previous reviewers although we had the rabbit and the vareniki; agreed wine is expensive but no more than other restaurants in Kiev Seemed to me to be more a lunchtime venue than evening but maybe that was because the sun was shining (burning) and the look out over the park... We spent our last nite in Ukraine dining in this restaurant and it was a memorable way to end an incredible vacation. The venue is very unique and located by the Dneiper River. Kureni is one of the oldest Kyiv restaurants, which survived several reconstructions and renovations.
