This was recommended by our tour guide as we had just visited the nearby crafts market. Overall we were not impressed. The lorca soup was ok, but there were chunks of potato and 2 slices of avocado, so more like a stew than soup. The llapingachos were just ok only. The fried pork specialty dish was dry with not much... More

Our guide recommended this three level restaurant in New Town. At first we had difficiutly finding it, but eventually got there! The cost of lunch for two of us, with soft drinks, was about $30. I thought it seemed pricey for what we ate. I ordered grilled sea bass with traditional sides. My son had ribs. Of all the places... More

Fine, reasonable, acceptable...all good ways to describe the place. If you haven't had Ecuadorian food before, this place is perfect. Good selection, good prices, perhaps a tad touristy but not too much. The service was fine considering they were understaffed by one person. But the wait staff is busily buzzing around, so it's not like they are ignoring you. If... More

Nice restaurant, good food, friendly E flash speaking waitstaff. Dinner for 2, no alcohol was $36.00 We had 2 appetizers, soup and 2 main dishes. The shrimp, empanadas were very good as was the potato avocado soup and the beef tongue. We were told it might be dangerous to walk but we did not feel afraid . There were tourists and... More

We ate here twice - the food is okay - the service is okay. There is nothing remarkable about this place - if you want a quick reasonably priced meal - not sensational but okay - then you will be fine here. The best part of this restaurant is that it always seems to be open - some other ones... More

As a starter I had a tasteless Locro de Papa, since the chef forgot any salt. The main course, Llapingachos, was dripping of fat and not crispy at all. The chicken was grilled without any seasoning and far to fat. Never ever I had such a bad dinner!

I had a difficult time finding a menu item that was not fried food or overloaded with starches. That said I did start with a shrimp empanada. The photo on the menu showed two, so I thought I would share, but only one large one arrived. The main course was so pedestrian, I have already forgotten what I ate three... More

We ate quite a bit in Ecuador and randomly went to Mama Clorinda's the last night. The food was very good...on par with the best we had in the country. Of course there weren't many locals there (they eat Ecuadorian food at home!).

The food was good and the servers were competent and very cheerful. It was a good experience all around and not expensive.

We haven't seen her, but had twice the opportunity to dine there. Very good traditional food, correct service. Loud group of American girls spoiled one evening: they left early enough to stay behind with very good feeling.
