Great food in a beautiful yet unsophisticated restaurant. I had the ceviches and if you like spicy food, you really should try it. Just delicious. With that I had the veal, it was also very good. However, I had the impression that the lamb of the person who I was dining with, had the same sauce. Both were really good.... More

Elegant setting, not very modern decor, but the food is rather current. Beautiful dishes, good service, interesting menu, well worth the dinner. The Peruvian chef restaurant owner has been considered one of the best in the world, its subsidiary in Santiago will be entitled to fame.

Restaurant was pretty; staff was attentive and enjoyable. However, even for Santiago, which is not inexpensive in general, this was very expensive, and the food was "fine," nothing excellent, and certainly disappointing for the prices we paid.

We had a delightful dinner at Astrid y Gaston in Santiago several years ago, and had a similar experience at their restaurant in Palermo in Buenos Aires a couple of years ago. We were looking forward to a return visit and weren't disappointed. The dining room is elegant; modern with a view of the kitchen through a glass wall. The... More

Delicious dinner in marvelous architecture. Very attentive service from exquisitely turned out waiters. We had the tasting menu and the fish dishes in particular were outstanding. The glass of recommended wines with each course ensured a perfect match. Expensive, but worth every penny.

I'm not a fan of Peruvian food, but my husband love it. He sad the food was outstanding. Great wine list. The restaurant is placed a little bit out of central area.

We had some superb meals in Santiago. Astrid y Gaston wasn't one of them. The colonial house has charm, but it's a rabbit warren, a hodge podge of rooms. You can land a great table downstairs with a view of the kitchen, a table in a corridor, adjacent to the bar, tucked away in a niche, next to the bathrooms,... More

In March my wife and I had dinner at Astrid and Gaston. it had a lot of hype on different websites and we were hesitant to go there since we were sure it was a tourist trap. We were wrong. The restaurant is in a very beautiful colonial style building and inside it has a big windowed kitchen that dominants... More

We had high expectations of this restaurant given the reputation of the others in the group. I agree that the setting is lovely and that the menu is interesting. For an appetizers my wife had pescado frito which was uninteresting and bland (but very large), while I had croquetas de camarones which were lightly breaded and fried, and served on... More

It is a cool little restaurant, but I was not impressed with the food at all. The food was a bit salty, but it seems to be the norm in the South American countries I have been to. My friend accompanying me is vegetarian and loves salty dishes, but even to her, the food was too salty. Service was ok,... More
