We fell in love with Gadjah Wong as soon as we stepped inside. We were given a choice between three themed dining areas and chose the open area with traditional Javanese music. According to locals this is the most expensive restaurant in Yogya and one of the best. It's where expats go. Actually for western standards it's not expensive at all and is really good food and service. Highly recommend.

Great food, great place, nice ambience for a semi-fine dining restaurant with live music. The prices are a little bit high for local people. The Dutch man says "gezellig" !

We arrived soaking wet as the rain was pooring down, and were greated warmly by hostesses who offered towels. The menu is not large, but has plenty of options. The chicken sate and duck were very good. It is quite expensive, but worth it.

We spend dinner in Gadjah Wong almost every time came to Jogja, because they offered you nice meal yet have a nice live music performance. Mostly people came for dine in jazz area, they have three themes of music while the others were traditional/gamelan and country song. I preferred Jazz.
