We were visiting someone in Limuru and this was recommended as a lunch option. Although a bit faded I think it would be a fine place for a cup of tea or a cocktail overlooking the garden in the back, but the food is not good. The menu was suspiciously broad and our group stuck to toasted ham and cheese... More

Although the setting is very beautiful, the poor service will stop me from coming back here again. The food was adequate, but nothing special, but the staff were extremely slow to respond to requests, and some were even unfriendly. When a cockroach was discovered in someone's coffee, and tinfoil in another person's soup, the staff seemed to think we were... More

On a weekend or on a weekend afternoon, this is a beautifull garden in an area of coffe and tea plantations. The terrace is nice, the food is great and the country club aspect is a treasure.

Their christmas lunch is absolutely and chic. They treat you like royalty and even as you enjoy the country air, fresh and crisp the food comes just as fresh and crisp.

Just seemed very slow to get service. Very laid back. Pretty, but not extensive. The drive to Kentmere was beautiful and better than the location itself.

To start on a positive, the setting is hard to beat - stunning gardens a short drive out of Nairobi. The staff is extremely friendly and do all possible to please under difficult conditions - their uniforms are threadbare, crockery looks as though it hasn't been changed since the 1970s and many items are frequently unavailable. The highlight of a... More

Kentmere has not changed in years. This is a good thing. I find it to be in a time warp from the 70's, and the furniture, waiters, crockery, etc., is all the same. We went for lunch on a Sunday, and they were reasonably busy. Sitting under the trees, we had a few bottles of wine, and a great 3... More

My husband is a member of the Kentmere Club, though you don't have to be one to dine or stay there. We love going there on Sundays. It serves kind of old-style British food, where you get your 3 types of vegetables with your main dish. Though the quality is good, and it's excellent for week-end relaxed dining. The garden... More

Nice place, serene environment, good accommodation rates, has a great history and good location. Could do with some major refurbishment!
