We were very tired after the hectic tour of east west Luxor and before talking a train to cairo had a break in this restaurant. Ambience was good and the food was good. But if you see value for money the restaurant is slightly overpriced. The service is good the staff went all out to help us. It is very... More

This restaurant is a must visit for those visiting Luxor. The decor is wonderful, from the various lanterns round the room to the intricately carved antique chairs. The top floor is a sheltered roof terrace which gets a lovely breeze. They had the biggest range of freshly made juices I've ever seen on a menu from carob to mango. I... More

Everyone raves about this place, but here goes. My main course was a little too salty, but otherwise tasty. As I continued eating it seemed to taste even saltier, had to give up about three-quarters of the way through. After leaving I realized it wasn't salt, but rather MSG. I was sure of it that sleepness night, as the stuff... More

A stylish Egyptian restaurant. Traditional food and decor. Excellent service. One of the best meals we had in Egypt.

Great restaurant with the best mezzehs ever. Have travelled quite a lot through the middle east and can really recommend a dinner here, although you could already enjoy a great meal by splashing into all their great mezzehs! Walking there you have to be careful not to walk by, but when you find it, you will be rewarded with great... More

We were very disappointed from the Egyptian food in Cairo! After we visited some of their best local spots, we just decided we will have to live on falafels and babaganush. BUT SOFRA was finally a traditional and delicious Egyptian restaurant that we can strongly recommend!

A must to experience in Luxor! Tasteful native food in oriental styled restaurant, while listening Um Khultum's poetic masterpieces. Try to arrive just before sunset, both hearing prayers and seeing restaurant transformation to the night light one. You can't help falling in love with your life again!

We went to Sofra after it was suggested in our Lonely Planet guide and this restaurant did not disappoint!!! It is located down a side street off the main drag so we decided to walk. Once we made the turn we were finally left alone to stroll the street and get a feel for Egyptian life in Luxor. We didn't... More

Lovely variety of Egyptian food, and excellent value for money. During my four night stay in Luxor I ate here twice and both times were as good as each other. The staff were very kind, helpful and nice. I would highly reccommend this restuarant, as one not to miss when staying or visiting Luxor.

A real gem to discover amongst the hustle and bustle of Luxor city centre. The food was fresh and very delicious. The service attentive yet unobtrusive. The interior was comfortable, clean and relaxing. I really cannot recommend this place enough!
