There are just too many restaurants to choose from in Istanbul! So we followed a friend's recommendation on this site and had a lovely meal at this cosy and friendly restaurant. We had the meze to share, all of which tasted home made, followed by two different but delicious lamb dishes. Our waiter was really friendly, and the bill reasonable.... More

Well, I have not been to all, but during my many years of staying in Istanbul this is the best I have been to. All is positive with this place, quality of food, prices, friendliness. It is recommended also by the canadian woman who has a shop in Arasta Bazaar, and should know. Hasan and Fehmi take good care of... More

Friendly, well priced, cosy, very nice atmosphere, and the food was great. The gentleman at the front was not pushy and made us feel special.

The staff is amazing specially Hasan the host. the prices were affordable and the meals were delicious. If you are in the Sultanahmet area, you must stop by and of course have a chat with Hasan. He is very well informed and multi-lingual.

Renaissance Food was good (pasta and swordfish kabobs). Humus appetizer was fantastic. Wine was reasonably priced. Worst part -- cramped, with tables too close together. Best part -- waiter was extremely nice. English menu. It's the last restaurant on the block, so you'll pass six or seven others to get to this one. Recommended to us by Jennifer’s Hamam (which... We tried the Anatolian favorite and the seafood casserole. Both were excellent and good value. We are planning to eat here again before leaving Istanbul.

It wasn't necessarily the food that enticed me to the restaurant, but the smiles and obvious enjoyment the owners had for their craft and business. Once there, I fell in love with the delicious bread, olives, lentil soup (try it for breakfast), Turkish ravioli (manti), kofte, stuffed mussels (uskumru dolmasi) and pasties (borek). Both were kind enough to tell me... More
